A sophisticatedly rustic storage building on the shore of Puget Sound for storing kayaks and related equipment. The south facing roof plane drops down and transitions to glass for a small greenhouse. Our design developed in a charrette held by IslandWood for a wheelchair accessible treehouse was selected for development and construction. IslandWood is a Bainbridge Island not-for-profit environmental education center and we are excited to have a building included in this terrific institution. Completion: Fall 2006. Architects Thomas has enjoyed helping numerous clients with small design problems, helping to bring good design to everything from chicken coops to canoe racks to light fixtures and information kiosks. These projects give us an opportunity to solve sticky problems and make a small part of the world function better while looking good. |
