INDIANOLA KITCHEN REMODEL |
|
The clients called us to look at their kitchen and sitting room and suggest what might be done to improve the work space in the kitchen and storage space. The work was to include the laundry and pantry spaces. Our solution was to re-orient the island to better distinguish between the cook’s space and the adjacent circulation space. The new island was designed as one large flat surface which provided more usable space. And with the elimination of a seldom used side door, the overall length of the counters and cabinets was increased. The space devoted to the pantry and laundry was reworked to make a larger dedicated space for the pantry, and this was built out with casework to fit storage needs. The laundry was fitted with a new stacked washer dryer to save space and new casework. At the passageway from the dining room, casework was built around the doorway. To one side of the door are the wall ovens and a glass case for display, on the other the bar and a built in desk. The sitting room fireplace was replaced with a new gas unit. Space was made above the fireplace for a flat screen TV, which is mounted on an articulating arm so it can be viewed from the kitchen. Casework doors were built which can be closed to hide the television when not in use. |
